Plant Natives this Fall

Late blooming native plants like Joe Pye Weed, Anise Hyssop, and Black Eyed Susans aren't just pretty flowers -- they have co-evolved over thousands of years with local bees, butterflies and birds to provide the right food at the right time. When you plant natives you are saving species from extinction one flower at a time. If your garden isn't alive with butterflies and bees come buy some natives this week at my first fall plant sale -- August 29th and 30th 9a-4p @ 47 Birds Nest Way in Shepherdstown. I'll have perennial flowers, native grasses and shrubs for sale plus free redbud, black locust, and brown eyed susans.
